This Privacy Policy explains how StrideBound ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the StrideBound iOS app ("App").

Core features are available without account creation. Optional account/auth flows may be provided in-app.

At a Glance

• Location and motion data are used to operate active run tracking and run-based gameplay.
• Run history is stored on your device, with optional iCloud backup controlled by Apple settings.
• We do not sell personal data or share personal data for advertising.

Data We Process

• Location data: route mapping, pace/distance calculation, and active-run continuity including background mode during active runs.
• Motion and fitness data: optional inputs used to improve run metric quality.
• Run and gameplay data: session outcomes, encounters, progression, and inventory state.
• Diagnostics: crash and reliability diagnostics available through Apple platform services.

How Data Is Used

• Deliver core product functions such as run tracking and route display.
• Operate gameplay systems including encounter logic, progression, and rewards.
• Improve stability and performance.

Storage and Security

StrideBound uses local iOS storage mechanisms including Core Data, UserDefaults, and Keychain-backed storage for relevant app/session/profile data.

When iCloud backup is enabled, Apple may include app data in encrypted backups.

Network Communications

The app may communicate with backend services for optional auth and game endpoints using app-configured API settings and iOS networking services.

Sharing and Selling

• No sale of personal information.
• No sharing of personal information for cross-app advertising.
• Platform partners such as Apple may process limited data necessary to deliver app services.

Your Controls

• You can decline location or motion permissions, though some features may be limited.
• You can end background run tracking by ending a run or changing iOS permissions.
• You can delete run data in-app or remove all app data by uninstalling the app.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe data from a child has been submitted, contact us and we will address the request.
